First of all, I would like to thank you for giving me such a wonderful scholarship to attend the Swing into Summer weekend, for I am very grateful. Without it, I would not have been able to experience this fantastic camp. I have never done a program in which I felt so at home, as I did at Pinewoods. It was a familial atmosphere and the staff and everyone there was so sweet to me. But beyond just the friendliness of the camp, I was also able to learn so much about dancing. The new dances I learned were fun and exciting, and I feel as though the experience has helped me to grow as an individual. I really loved how everything was easy to navigate and well organized. When I first came to the camp I was shy because I didn’t know a lot of people. But, as soon as a total kind stranger asked me to dance I wasn’t shy anymore. In fact I participated in almost every dance, that’s how much I enjoyed the dancing and the community. I hope my sister and I will be able to return to Pinewoods in the future. Again, thank you for considering me for the scholarship.
