Session Attended: Royal Scottish Country Dance Society - Scottish Session II (2019)
This summer I got to experience America and Pinewoods for the first time at RSCDS Scottish Sessions. It was the highlight of my summer and the best dance event I’ve ever been to. I’ve heard a lot of Pinewoods praise the last few years, but camp exceeded all my expectations. The Pinewoods-family received me better than I could’ve imagined, and I quickly felt at home in the woods. I especially loved the way of doing family style meals and how this made for a great way to get to know new friends. And I’m so grateful for the eagerness of explaining and including this Norwegian girl in all the American everyday things.
I have so many great memories from the week: Great classes with great teachers. The best group of Scottish musicians I’ve ever heard – I could stay up all night listening to them play at Pinecones. Several great dance evenings and balls with a lot of fun dances. In the end of the week I could hardly walk on my legs, after all the dancing. But it was so worth it.
I am so impressed by the Pinewoods staff keeping this wonderful camp site running. Thank you!
I am forever grateful to NGI for giving making this possible. Without the NGI Scholarship I could only dream of going. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to experience Pinewoods! I hope I’ll be able to return to the Scottish sessions and camp in the future.
